Dr. Mark Kokes
Dr. Mark Kokes serves as Adeia’s Chief Revenue Officer, where he leads the company’s global sales and go-to-market strategy with a focus on maximizing the value of Adeia’s growing intellectual property portfolio and driving long-term, diversified revenue growth across Media and Semiconductor markets.
Since the company’s separation, Dr. Kokes has served as Adeia’s Chief Licensing Officer and General Manager, Media, where he built and led the Media Sales and Strategy organization. In this capacity, he delivered strong global deal execution, expanded customer relationships worldwide, and strengthened Adeia’s commercial foundation across key markets.
Prior to joining Xperi, Adeia’s predecessor, as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Media IP in late 2021, Dr. Kokes was Chief Intellectual Property Officer at NantWorks and the Nant family of companies, a large healthcare and life sciences conglomerate based in Los Angeles. Before NantWorks, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Intellectual Property, Licensing and Standards at BlackBerry, where he led monetization of the company’s aggregate intellectual property portfolio and oversaw its research and technology standardization initiatives.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Kokes served as Vice President of Corporate Development and Intellectual Property Licensing at Intertrust Technologies Corporation, a prolific licensor of technology and intellectual property in the areas of trusted distributed computing and cybersecurity. He began his career in the mobile industry, holding senior engineering, corporate strategy, and intellectual property roles at Nokia Research Center, Sony Ericsson’s Corporate Technology Office, and HTC’s Corporate Strategy Group.
Dr. Kokes is a 15-year veteran of the mobile and connected device industries. Dr. Kokes is an inventor on numerous US and international patents and has published academic articles and book chapters across a wide range of technical research domains.
He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University, as well as a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude, from Texas A&M University.
